Why Muslims?

Did you know at least 20% of the world’s population is Muslim? That is 1.3 Billion People! There are over 8 million Muslims in the United States today, and 1 million of them reside in new York alone. Islam is growing rapidly in our world and it is on our doorsteps. From 1989-1998 the Islam population grew by 25% in the United States and over 100% in Europe.

However, just 6% of all current missionaries are focused on Muslims. God is giving them dreams and visions of Jesus Christ as their Savior and so many are ready to hear the Gospel. They have been reputed in Christian circles as the unreachable people, but this is a lie. Jesus longs for his Muslim sons and daughters to know Him!

Muslim Focused DTS

The Muslim Focused DTS will have a definite and purposeful focus on reaching the Muslim world. This will be accomplished through:

• Special speakers teaching on the challenges of the world of Islam and how to communicate with Muslims
• Creative projects and methods to prepare students to bring Muslims to Christ
• Weekly outreaches to the Muslim community in the Metro New York Area, including Prayer Stations and the Taxi ministry
• Partnerships with local Muslim ministries
• Special ministry time in Dearborn, Michigan, the most Muslim populated city in the United States

Outreach

The Muslim focused DTS will have an extended 11 week outreach to a Muslim country. Location will be announced soon, but it will be a country where evangelism is legal. The school will be involved in outreach to Muslims as they work alongside local missionaries and churches. Lots of opportunities will be available to build relationships with Muslim people and families, share the Gospel openly and purposefully, and assist local ministries in their ongoing outreach.
